If you think that is the shiba scream, contact the breeder and thank them for working the scream out of them. Shiba that has not been worked with will scream if you grab their paw when they dont want you to at the minimum.. It will sound like you are murdering your dog.

I don't know, I have had Akitas (closely related) for over 25 years and enjoy them very much. A lot mentioned in this video are Akita traits as well. I am considering a Shiba as we get older so we can lift and handle it.
I wouldnt recommand as a 1st dog , shiba inus require a certain discipline to be trained , they have a strong temperament and it require patience , more than other breeds

Shiba Inus sometimes become “walk refusers” during walks.
They're just stubborn. They're very smart and can figure many things out. High prey drive. Don't park in public, only at strangers walking on property. Very loving, in there own way. We love our Shiba. He has such a big personality and is very handsome! If you don't mind dealing with a dog that is stubborn and strong for it's size, then get one!

German Shepherds or Shiba dogs.
German Shepherds shed constantly though, so if a Shiba dog only sheds twice a year, you really must take a look at German Shepherds.
They've got 2 Shedding states:
One is "a lot" and the second is "even more".
It's amazing how you often here Japanese say things about dogs that are absolutely inaccurate, just because they don't have enough dogs in the culture to gather sufficient data for abstraction.
For example, the "shiba inu cry" isn't specific to shiba dogs at all 😄
And dog's don't pee on your leg, because they're happy.

They are the best animal on the face of the planet. I personally am not very much a dog person, but I own two Shiba Inu’s and I love them fiercely. They’re not very dog-like while still being dogs. They’re just the best, most funny, most stubborn, sweetest creatures on this planet 🥹
