Hi i dont have a large open area conducive to a big pen area. Im bringing home a maltipoo in march. I have an area next to my fireplace that would fit a 4 panel pen but i feel like the crate would be too big in there. Should i forego the pen or keep the crate outside it?

You think I would know this at my age but thank you so much. I’m going to pick up my new pup tomorrow and I was nervous about it so thanks again.❤

feeling a bit nervous, but very excited about bringing home our first puppy. Thank you for providing such a great resource. I think it will give me a great sense of confidence knowing you have answers to many questions that are certain to come up over the first few months.

For how long should you do the potty breaks on the hour with the 45 minutes of crate time? It doesn’t seem sustainable to keep that kind of schedule for more than a day or two.

I love this video !Not too much unnecessary talking. And not a lot of expensive things needed for a puppy like soooo many others who are CONSTANTLY trying to sell the high dollar, highest dollar, brands. Great video! Thank you!

I’m getting a retired from having puppies, a 5 year old dachshund the end of April, I would like advice on a smooth transition for her. She is supposed to be potty trained but I know when everything is new to her she may have potty accidents, she is crate trained but the breeder has told me she would rather not be crated a lot. I would like advice , thank you. Linda

What about at night?😬 do I force him in the little crate? We have a big one downstairs for play pen. We set it up like yours.

Hi there, how long is too long for night time crate training? I heard you suggest 8 hours for a deep sleep. If the puppy doesn’t make a noise and it’s been 10 or 11 hours is that too long?

In the country where I live, we are not allowed to have puppy pens or cages that can be closed for our dogs and cats. What is your recommendation for a new puppy in the home then?

We are picking up our puppy tomorrow, 8 weeks old, and I've loved your "Roadmap" podcasts as we try to prepare! I believe we have the right set up for long term but I'm curious about the short-term; In Mika's playpen area, I have her 42" crate that I expect her to grow into with a divider to just giver her a small area for now. I hadn't thought about a portable crate that I can keep her with me throughout the house – is it ok to use a portable crate AND the big crate or should I change her initial play area to include the portable crate and not the big crate? Sorry for the long question.

Any the crate you keep by your side is the same one they sleep in? Also we don’t have big place so no play pin can be in house just crate.

I have question. I am getting a puppy tomorrow night. What are the benefits of crate training/What is the purpose? I have a puppy pen but not a crate. As my puppy grows up, I will let him have free roam around the house… so should I still crate train him?
